«They have stolen my children to turn them into Agnelli heirs».
Last act, updated to September 2009,
of Margherita’s war against her family.
The Book
May 2007, Margherita Agnelli files the sensational citation against Gabetti and Grande Stevens – guardians of her father’s patrimony – at the Court of Turin, which sets off an earthquake among the members of the Torinese family, and raises the curtain on the past of her father Gianni, and on that of a dynasty for decades protagonist of the economic history, and not only, of Italy. With a frank and provocative reconstruction, Moncalvo sheds light on public and private matters unknown to the general public, and often hidden from the mass media: dramas, conflicts, suspicions and manoeuvres that have concerned the Agnelli family, which make it possible to comprehend the most recent facts. This book traces the family biography (devoting ample space to Edoardo’s tragic death and the rise of the very young John Elkann), the current media war with protagonist Margherita and her sons, John and Lapo, but especially the events and behind the scenes that preceded and followed the death of Gianni Agnelli, providing the reader the complete account, updated to the most recent facts, of a war of succession fought with legal battles, scandals and economic interests, that involves all of us.
