In this essay, that presents a particular new look edition, the author confronts the subject of corporality in art in a strictly philosophical approach, rereading works and writings by artists such as Asger Jorn, Stelio Maria Martini, Mario Persico, Lucio Scaffaro e Jean Tinguely. To these he adds , as exceptional guides, reflections on Leonardo’s “Treatise on Painting” and the Manual on the Apocalypse” by Gioacchino da Fiore. Throughout the first text, through which the commentary runs like a red thread tying all the chapters together, Giugliano deals with the theme of painting in relation to writing; thanks to the second text, instead, the question of the connection of the work of art with its history is defined precisely. In this way , the relationship between art and the theoretical matters of referrals is explained, especially art criticism.
